When you see someone who has nice clothes, fancy cars, and who’s always posting pictures of their latest beach vacation on Instagram, it’s easy to tell yourself, “I want to be like them.” But do you really?
Maybe…but maybe not. It’s important to remember that the end doesn’t justify the means. Getting there is important, but HOW you get there is also important. Just because you can get a lot of money quickly, that doesn’t mean it’s OK to rob a bank. Make sense?
Over the years there have been many chiropractors and chiropractic groups who have taught methods that are not exactly patient-centered (or legal in some cases). Unethical marketing and business practices are almost always justified by the size of the practice they produce and the fact that they are “helping” a lot of people.
I’m not at all saying that everyone who is successful is unethical. I am saying that it’s important to look at the method just as closely as you look at the end result.
Linking arms with people who are unethical will NOT make them more ethical…it will make you more unethical. That’s how it works. Be careful who you take advice from. There are some really amazing people out there who are willing to be a coach/mentor. There are also some really sleazy people out there.
It’s your responsibility to do your homework…to have some discernment. Follow people who not only have knowledge and experience but who also have high character. You won’t regret it.
I talk about it more in this video. Enjoy!
